The happiness bar is one of the most unique features of the SolarPups game. It allows players to increase their chances of breeding a rare pup by building a connection with their dog.

How does it work?

The happiness bar can be increased by spending time with your dog. You can play with your dog by clicking the profile button on the top right of our website after you sign in. Every doggo wants three simple things: nose boops, play fetch, and to dig. Once your doggo is at max happiness, you can breed it for a limited amount of time.

When a pair of dogs is bred, and at least 1 of them has a happiness level greater than 0, it will increase the chances of a rare pup offspring. Here's how this works:

• Each SolarPup has 4 slots per trait category. This means when you breed two pups, there are 8 trait options per category that could be passed on to your pup

• However, when a pup is happy and breeding, a 9th slot is introduced to all trait categories. This slot contains a rare trait - also known as the happiness trait - with a low probability chance of occurring. The probability of this 9th trait being passed to offspring is correlated with the level of the dog's happiness.

• The best chance of breeding a rare pup is to breed two parents at peak happiness. This will ensure that both parents have a 9th slot happiness trait with a reasonable probability of being passed on to their new pup.

Here's a table summarizing the ways the happiness bar can impact your chance of breeding a rare pup. If both the parent dogs have a full happiness bar, there's a 10% chance of generating a rare pup.

Why was this feature added to the game?

We want owners to build a real connection with their pup. This is about more than just collecting digital assets - it's about creating a community of dog lovers who enjoy each unique aspect of their SolarPups!

Is the happiness bar effective over time?

The higher the happiness, the better chance of breeding a rare pup. It's in your best interest to breed doggos when they are at their happiest!

What happens when my dog's happiness bar reaches 0?

You can always make your pup happy again by playing fetch with it!

Can I breed a dog without the happiness bar at 100%?

Doggos can still be bred with another pup, so long as one of them has a happiness level greater than 0.

Do both dogs need to have a happiness bar full to breed?

Two dogs can be bred at anytime, even if neither of them has a full happiness bar. However, the best chance of breeding a rare pup comes from happy parents.

Can I breed parent and child dogs?

Related dogs (parents, children, siblings and cousins) cannot be bred.
